Matthew 8:19-22
Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go." Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

This is bit unfeeling don't you think? If Jesus is the Son of God, then shouldn't he be feeling the grief and loss that the disciple is feeling, and then empathise with him? How does this work with honor thy father and mother? What honor is there in letting people who don't care bury your own flesh and blood?
I need some clarification here.
I was wondering when some perceptive mind would pick on this scripture and form that question. What Jesus was talking about was the importance of following God the very moment you are called into His service. Don’t wait until your financial circumstances are better secure before you start helping the needy. Don’t wait until you quit drinking or smoking before you begin to following the will of The Lord. Don’t wait until your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend is willing to be more receptive to what you believe God is calling you to do. That is what Jesus was referring to. NOTHING is more important than doing God’s will when the time of your calling is upon you. Let nothing delay you from doing God’s work.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
